Publish, close and unpublish

Three different states, and what each one does to your link.

Publish

Publishing makes the form live at its public link and starts accepting answers. Select Publish in the builder header, check the summary, and confirm. If you have edited a live form, the modal tells you how many changes are waiting to go out.

The form check

The publish dialog also checks the form for things that cost answers: a long form, many required long answers, two questions worded the same, a repeated or lone option, a picture with no description, and logic that cannot work. Check the wording with AI reads your questions as the people answering will, and suggests clearer wording for any that are unclear; Use it changes the question. None of it stops you publishing.

Close

Closing a published form stops new answers but leaves the link working. People who open it see your closing message instead of the questions. Use it for a deadline, an event that filled up, or an application window that ended.

Open or close on a schedule

In Settings, a draft or closed form can open on a date and time you pick: it goes live by itself, and until then its link says when it opens. A published form can close on a date and time, or after a number of responses.

Unpublish

Unpublishing takes the form back to draft. The link stops working entirely. Every response you have already collected is kept.
