Post new responses to Microsoft Teams

A card in a Teams channel for each response, step by step.

1 min readUpdated

Each new response can post a card in a Microsoft Teams channel. Teams makes the address with a workflow, and you paste it into Formkit. Your organisation may limit who can add workflows; if the option is missing, ask your Teams admin.

Make the address in Teams

  • In Teams, find the channel, hover over its name and choose ••• (More options), then Workflows.
  • Search for Post to a channel when a webhook request is received, and choose it.
  • Name it Formkit and choose Next. Check the team and the channel, and choose Add workflow.
  • When it is added, Teams shows an address. Copy it: it is long, and comes from logic.azure.com or powerplatform.com.

Connect it in Formkit

In a form's Settings → Connections, choose Microsoft Teams. Paste the address, give it a name you will recognise, like Sales channel, and choose Connect. Then choose Send a test: a card should appear in the channel shortly.

If nothing arrives

  • The workflow runs as the person who made it. If they leave or lose access to the channel, make the workflow again.
  • If the workflow was turned off or deleted, add it again and paste the new address.
  • Under the connection, recent deliveries show what Teams answered, and Send again resends one.
