How seats are counted

Who is a seat, what a seat costs, and what happens when people join or leave.

1 min readUpdated

Paid plans are priced per seat. Every member of a company is a seat, the owner included.

What a seat costs

  • Pro: $6 a seat a month, or $60 a year.
  • Business: $19 a seat a month, or $190 a year.

A company of three on Pro pays $18 a month.

Who is not a seat

Guests invited to a single form are never a seat. On Free, members are not seats either: add as many as you like.

People joining and leaving

Add a member and the subscription adds a seat; remove one and it drops. Polar works out the difference for the rest of the period, so you pay for the time each seat was there.

Seats and the AI allowance

Each seat adds its plan’s monthly AI allowance to the company’s shared pool, so a bigger team gets more AI to share. See AI allowance and credits.

Seeing the count

Settings → Plan shows how many seats the company is billed for, and what the next renewal comes to.
