Pick Microsoft Forms when

everyone filling it in is inside your Microsoft 365 organisation and the answers belong in Excel.

Simple forms and quizzes built into Microsoft 365. If your school or company runs on Microsoft, it is already there.

Pick Formkit when

the form goes outside your organisation, carries your brand, or needs more than a couple of hundred answers on a personal account.

A complete workspace for designing the form, shaping the journey, and using what comes back. Free to start.

Feature by feature

Based on each product’s own pricing page, help centre and developer docs, October 2026, and the free plan unless a row says otherwise. A dash means the feature exists but is narrower. Plans change, so check theirs before you decide.

Questions people ask

Microsoft Forms comes with our subscription. Why pay for anything else?

For internal forms you may not need to. Formkit is for forms people outside your organisation see: your brand, your link, and logic that sends each person down the right path.

Does Formkit do quizzes?

Yes, on Pro: marking, a timer and results. See the quizzes page for how it works.

Are there response limits?

Microsoft Forms on a personal account allows 200 responses per form. Work and school accounts allow far more. Formkit does not cap responses on any plan.

Can I get the answers into Excel?

Yes. Every plan exports CSV, which Excel opens, as well as JSON and PDF. Pro adds a native Excel export.

Choose the tool that fits the job. Choose Formkit when the form is part of how people see you.
